Barrueco
A singular vintage, 2021 was marked by April frosts that reduced yields, followed by rainfall and a summer with scarce precipitation. The harvest, at the beginning of October, allowed for optimal ripening and great concentration in the grapes, key to its juicy, structured, and age-worthy character.
It displays a deep cherry-red color. On the nose, it reveals a complex and expressive aromatic profile, where ripe black fruit —blackberries, prunes, and cherries— intertwines with notes of toffee, forest floor, and a subtle balsamic touch, underpinned by spicy hints of black pepper, toasted notes, and cocoa.
On the palate, it stands out for its body, with round and velvety tannins that envelop the palate. Its solid structure maintains an impeccable balance between fruit, volume, and freshness, leading to a long, persistent finish marked by an intense fruity aftertaste, suggesting excellent aging potential.
